True Story Tuesday - ice srapper edition

YES, yes I know that ice scraper is spelled wrong in the title, but it's that way for a reason...see my TST below. For more TST, click this fancy little button and read away, oh and feel free to link up with your own TST blog post!!!

So, WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY back in 2000, I found this forum of moms on the MSN webpage. Apparently they had been around awhile, but MSN was closing them. Some of the moms had gotten close via the internet and instant messaging and one of them was on bedrest while pregnant, so she started a private group. Lucky for me, they let my crazy ass in with the big move from public forum to private group...whew! Anyway, go figure, I get close with some of the moms via the group, IM'g, emailing, etc. Things move along, one mom wasn't going to have Christmas for her boys, so the other moms sent them gifts. Another mom didn't have an Easter basket for her kid, so the Texas Easter Bunny sent a filled basket via Fed Ex from Texas to Canada. Another time some crazy ass tornado's tore the hell outta OK's ass and all of us were calling, emailing, glued to the news, and posting like crazy with worry. There have been births, deaths, grandchildren born, weddings, moves, and recently, a good woman/wife/mother lost her husband. I don't think I'm doing any justice to the closeness this group feels but we are FRIENDS in every sense of the word and have been since sometime in 2000. Moving along to 2003 and we decide we need to have a get together. Some of the moms meet up for a weekend in Branson, MO. It's middle of the country, cheap, easy to get too, and fun! Uncle Bubba was all when you get to the airport to meet your "friends" it's gonna be some perverted old fart there to kidnap you. Thankfully, that wasn't the case, and when I saw the first mom, one I happened to be very close too, I cried like a little bitch. There was no nervousness. It was like seeing that friend from way back that you've lost contact with but when you see them, it's like you'd never been apart. So, we heart each other...got it???? GOOD!

We rented a cute little PT Cruiser, with a sun roof, and I drove it most of the time. One of the times, we were leaving for somewhere, I saw something in the door of the car. I picked it up, turned it over and over and around and around, staring at it, like WTF is this??? Finally, I said WTF IS THIS??? EVERYONE in the car started LAUGHING at me...they were all it's an ice scraper. I was all WTF why are y'all laughing, I'm from southeast Texas, WHY IN HELL would I know WTF THIS IS???? Anyway, it was funny, and they made fun of me all weekend.

Everyone gets back home and of course, we had to tease and taunt the mom's that did not go on the trip. One of the mom's that was there, tells the others that Y (that's what they call me) didn't know what an ice scrapper was, well boy howdy, that joke on me got turned around on HER right quick!!!

And would y'all believe several of those bitches mailed me ice scrappers that winter...LMFAO

Totally laughing (with you, of course) because I can just picture being confused by that bit of cold weather paraphenalia.

I live in a place where it gets snowy in winter and I have never owned an ice scrapper. I always end up using a CD case.
