LOI 07/09/10

Foursons

Dear car salesman,
When you tell me that I need to bring my car on a Tuesday evening, to be repaired on Wednesday because the guy who does that specific type of repair ONLY works on Wednesday, then try to keep my car an extra day because of rain, please don't think that I won't question WHY on earth that repair guy will be there on a Thursday when you said he ONLY works on Wednesdays. When you tell me you'll give me a "loaner" don't expect me to NOT get pissy when I leave my HOT sporty car with you and you give me a damn Hyundai to drive...it has an ECO warning and slows down when you drive it like I drive all cars! When I want to go fast, I don't care about the environment in that moment, and that ECO warning pisses me off. So, please, do not be surprised when I insist that you repair my car in the time you said you would, rain or not, because I do not want to continue driving a crappy car, when I just paid a fortune for a HOT car...got it mmmmkaythanks!

Sincerely,
Aunt Crazy who got her HOT car back by bringing on the Aunt Crazy with the salesman

  1. Ummmm does this Wednesday repair guy not have an indoor garage to work in? Why would the fact that it's raining make one bit of difference? That's a pretty sad excuse if you ask me.

  2. I am in serious need of a hot car, but those don't usually hold seven kids. Instead, I drive a big old suburban with hail dents that smells vaguely of french fries and wet dog. But it's paid for!

  5. Here - here's my bat... the next time you drive by, drop in with it. Have a good time!

I still make bomb noises when I drive by the Ford dealer who sold me my lemon mustang. Big noises. Makes me feel better.

  14. Umm... I'm confused. Why would RAIN stop a car repair??? And I'm cracking up at Brandi - for sure they didn't know who they were messing with!

I once pitched a fit at a Ford dealership when they were working on a recall item on my Escape (yes, my beloved Ducky that was totaled soon after), and they gave me a FIESTA loaner.

I kid you not. The entire dealership was well aware of my refusal to take the keys to that car.

I told them I was going on a roadtrip that weekend and I needed something of similar size to my Escape so that I could bring my bike. So after pitching an Escape-sized fit, I wound up in an EXPEDITION.

Which would have been cool, except that I'm not used to driving those big rigs and that road trip was on mountains with narrow lanes and sheer cliffs. It was a white-knuckle drive! :)

But fits work... did you throw a blogworthy one??? :)
